New flights to Panama, specifically towards the area of Rio Hato, were recently announced by Canada’s Air Transat, will travel with a frequency of twice a week: Mondays and Thursdays, as confirmed by the administration of Tocumen International Airport.

* The Canadian airline Air Transat flight started a season since the Canadian cities of Toronto and Montreal to Scarlett Martinez airport in southwest Panamanian province of Cocle.
* This flight will be twice a week: on Mondays and Thursdays. The aircraft used is an Airbus 737-800 with capacity for 190 passengers.
* The purpose of the Canadian airline, is to make 75 flights during the high season, which will end on 25 April.
The administration of the Tocumen International Airport, located in Panama City, said that “The decision of Air Transat starting its route to Rio Hato, provides additional options for Canadian tourists with nonstop flights to Panama,” said Joseph Fidanque III, CEO of International Airport Scarlett Martínez Airport, managed by Tocumen.
These new flights to Panama, will contribute greatly to the growth and competitiveness of the airline industry, and therefore, promotes tourism in Panama, becoming in turn a great opportunity for travelers from Canada, who wish to visit Rio Hato, drawn by the attractions of sun and beach that offers the Pacific coast of the region.
Air Transat becomes the second Canadian company to arrive at Cocle market after April 2014, Sunwing Airlines began operations in Rio Hato. It is important to note that Air Transat is a major Canadian airlines based in Montreal, Quebec, focused on the leisure market and charter flights and serves 90 destinations in 25 countries. Its fleet consists of 21 Airbus A330 and A310, and has a workforce of 2,000 employees.
According to figures provided by the Tocumen International Airport between January and June last year, they have been mobilized through the Scarlett Martinez International Airport a total of 28.693 foreign tourists, mainly from Canada.
