The number of tourists in Panama have increased significantly so far this year. According to a report by the National Institute of Statistics and Census of the Comptroller (INEC) and according to statistics from the Tourism Authority of Panama (ATP), the flow of visitors to the country increased to 1.9 million people, representing 15.1% from the same period in 2014.

* Tocumen International Airport, the main port of entry into the country, reported an increase of 23.6% compared to 2014.
* Visitors from South America entering the Tocumen International Airport in the period from January to September 2015, representing 45.9% of the total, followed by tourists from North America, with 24.4%.
* From January to September 2015, the number of tourists in Panama recorded a total of 1.9 million people, an increase of 15.1% over the same period 2014.
There are many people who choose Panama as a destination for vacation and enjoy its beaches. This year, the number of tourists in Panama showed a significant to enter more than 250 thousand tourists from different ports in the country increased.
The main port of entry is the Tocumen International Airport, which received 1.4 million visitors in the period between January and September 2015, while in 2014 received 1.1 million of people.
In the case of cruises, 189.315 passengers were recorded from January to September this year, but in 2014, were received 259.625 passengers. In this case, it reflected a decrease of 27.1% and an absolute variation of 70,310 passengers less than in 2014.
Visitors entered by other ports have shown a significant income with 152.383 people during the first nine months of 2015, while in 2014 they entered there 103.952 visitors, reflecting a growth of 46.6% and an absolute variation of 48.431 additional visitors.
However, tourists in Panama are visitors from all over the world. Visitors from South America, accounting for 45.9% of the total, followed by American tourists, with 24.4%. Meanwhile, visitors from Europe, represent a 13.6%; Central America represents 10%, Asia 3.1% and finally the Caribbean, with 2.4%. The flow of tourists in Panama is growing, which contributes to the country’s economy in a positive way.
